An exceptional, fine and impressive George III antique sterling silver two-handled tray; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection.
This exceptional George III antique sterling silver tray has a plain oval form.
The surface of this antique silver tray is embellished with a fine and impressive bright cut engraved coat of arms displaying a lion rampant on a paly of 10, couche shield design surmounted with a crest of a lion's gamb erect wielding a spear.
The raised border of this impressive tray is encompassed with cast and applied reed decoration to the rim.
This fine oval silver tray is fitted with two cast and applied reed decorated handles accented with impressive leaf enveloped terminals.
Condition
This antique sterling silver tray is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
This exceptional Georgian tray is in presentation condition.
The cast and applied decoration is sharp, the bright cut engraved crest is crisp.
Full hallmarks to the underside of the tray are very clear; hallmarks are deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
