Chrysanthemum sterling silver asparagus tray. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Rectangular; corners curved with applied flower head and profusion of leaves. Sides concave with applied imbricated leaf rim. Squat volute scroll corners supports with flower-burst mounts. With original liner: Engraved scrolls and flowers, and pierced floral diaper in scrolled frames. Applied scrolled rim and end handles. A rare and gorgeous piece in this historic Japonesque pattern that was first produced in 1880. Both parts fully marked including maker's stamp, pattern no. 13372 (first produced in 1897), order no. 9657, and director's letter T (1892-1902).
