Description
Presented is a fabulous Tiffany & Co sterling silver round dish. This piece dates to circa 1947-1956. The dish is made in the Tomato pattern, which as the name suggests features a design of 'stacked' tomatoes, like spokes radiating out from the center of the dish. This is a rare and desirable pattern, particularly in hollowware. The dish is well made, with a nice sense of weight and quality, as you'd expect from the Tiffany name. This piece is in excellent condition. The dish has been professionally cleaned and polished. The details of the pattern are nice and crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the piece is stamped with the Tiffany & Co. maker's mark, sterling silver, and the initial 'M' for the company director between 1947-1956, Louis deBebian Moore.
The dish is about 10 inches in diameter and about 1 inch tall at the edge.
The piece weighs 611 grams or 21.6 regular ounces.
